Klaus Motoki Tonn has more than 22 years of experience in corporate, startup and social business. As founder of the strategy agency Lumen Partners and the creative agency Lumen Design, he and his team work for market leaders such as Daimler Trucks, Deutsche Telekom, LG Electronics, Allianz, start-ups and social enterprises. Through Lumen Trainings, he conducts sessions on AI, digital mindset, emotional intelligence, and adaptive resilience, focusing on people development and organizational growth.
The design work of Klaus Motoki Tonn and his agencies has won numerous awards, including the Cannes Gold Lion, ACE and Red Dot Award for product design.
Klaus Motoki Tonn is the founder of EU-funded social impact programmes in Germany and Portugal and initiator of communities such as Finde Zukunft, which are dedicated to the topics of personal development, meaning and significance and mental health.
He also serves as a mentor at Yunus Social Business and is an educator for Search Inside Yourself and Time To Think © programs.
He teaches Anti-Fragility and Emotional Intelligence at the Lisbon MBA, Digital Communications at Transformation Studies at the University of Kassel and is the author of several academic and non-academic publications.
His book Ikigai - The Secret of Small Things was published by Penguin Random House in 2022. His agencies are certified partners for the Organizational Cultural Inventory (OCI ©) and support organizations in strategy, business development, communication and cultural transformation.

Klaus Motoki Tonn is passionate about values and meaning – known as "ikigai" in Japanese. His book was published by Penguin Random House and gained popularity throughout Germany. Klaus Motoki Tonn helps organizations and teams create a collective understanding of meaning and values through.
